Art Classes: MIXED MEDIA

Ages 18 and over; all levels welcome
An introduction of mixed media techniques and conceptual methods for students of painting and drawing. Using many ideas and approaches, contemporary issues and social awareness are considered. Students may combine two and three-dimensional materials such as paint, pastel, pen and ink, cardboard, canvas, newspaper, wire, wood and handmade papers. Students may also work with found objects as the basic structures of their imagery, and explore the option of building out from the surface of the painting.

The handling of design elements--line, shape, color, texture, space, balance and composition--will also be considered.
