Art Classes: A COLORFUL INTRODUCTION

Why do painters spend so much time mixing paints and playing around with color on their palettes or canvasses? What process do artists use to get from colorful experimentation to finished artwork? Get ready to find out! We will work with acrylic paint and explore the basics of mixing colors and color harmonies, while developing our own color wheels and learning how to use primary, secondary and complementary colors in our work. We will journey through a diverse range of media in our investigation of color, and we will use our discoveries to create portraits, still life paintings, collages and found object sculptures.
